Schwalbe, a German company, was founded in 1922 and only makes bicycle and wheelchair tyres.

The Marathon Plus is possibly the most puncture resistant bicycle tyre there is - so tough that Schwalbe had to redesign their testing methods.

A tough but flexible rubber layer lies under the tread. This tough layer (which Schwalbe call Smartguard) resists penetration by nasty sharp stuff.

This is not a tyre you'd fit for racing - the puncture resistant layer adds a bit of weight. But for virtually puncture-free riding, the Schwalbe Marathon Plus is hard to beat!
